And I took a picture of the crew the other day when we were all snuggled up together. Winston is usually always in the middle and the others will come over and flank him. All at my feet. I'm loving their personalities as they grow.
Sunday I had brunch with an old friend, Kyra. We were best friends in high school and hadn't seen each other in over a decade. She was in town with her husband and two daughters to see the sites. As we were catching up on our lives since high school really we also did a little reminencing and came to the conclusion we were really good kids in our teen years. I had totally forgotten that I didn't start drinking until college (when I turned 21 of course;) and didn't touch the stuff in high school. I think that is what really brought us together. In a sea of boozing teens exploring their limits across all subjects we were less so and had our own mischievous "clean" fun.
She reminded me of one time I was in tears. We were heading back from Montreal after a night at the dance clubs and on the desolate highway driving home I hit a bird. I had pulled over and that had woken all my passengers. And John pulled over driving the other car. It didn't do any damage and I think no one understood why I was so upset. I remember the night and feeling really really bad that I had hit bird but forgot I had cried.
After brunch we went up to the observatory deck at their hotel, the Marriott Custom House, in the heart of the city. It used to be the custom house for banking and was turned into hotels. The views are amazing and I was mentally adding it to my list of places to bring visitors until I learned you could only access it with a hotel key card. Bummer.
Beautiful day and beautiful views.
